Gerry Cheevers Mask T-Shirt

One day during practice, a high shot hit his mask dead on. He left the ice, went to the locker room to "recover." The coach (Harry Sinden) found him there and ordered him back to play. Meanwhile, the Bruins' trainer, John "Frosty" Forristall, drew a scar in the shape of "stitches" on the mask where the shot hit. From then on, every time Cheevers took a shot to the face via the mask, they added a new "stitch" to the mask. This is how the visual signature was created: a white mask covered with "stitch" marks.
